Melbourne-based specialty distributor Wavelink has attained certification from Fortinet to become an Authorised Training Centre (ATC).
The accreditation allows Wavelink to offer cybersecurity training using the curriculum developed for the Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certification program.
The distributor will exclusively deliver training for the Fortinet Certified Professional – FortiGate Administrator course.
Wavelink said it is the only recognised Australian Fortinet distributor to provide scheduled in-person training sessions.
The certification comes after Wavelink was named Fortinet’s distributor of the year for 2023 in April.
“Cybersecurity threats are evolving at an unprecedented rate, posing a significant challenge for Australian businesses,” said Ilan Rubin, CEO at Wavelink.
“Coupled with the ongoing labour shortages and cybersecurity skills gaps, it’s imperative for organisations to stay ahead in safeguarding their digital infrastructure. Achieving the ATC accreditation empowers Wavelink to play a pivotal role in bridging this gap.”
“Through its specialised training programs and ongoing partnership with Fortinet, Wavelink is committed to its role as a trusted advisor, equipping professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to effectively counteract emerging threats, elevating cybersecurity competencies across Australia.”
The FortiGate Administrator course will focus on product version FortiOS 7.4 and will be virtually led by Shihab Haque, a computer scientist and cybersecurity professional with over 16 years experience in industrial research and development, academic teaching and professional training.
Wavelink will also provide the FortiGate Immersion Lab to customers and offer private training upon request.
“Fortinet is pleased to extend its partnership with Wavelink through its ATC certification and delivery of the NSE training programs to end-users, partners, and students,” said John Milionis, Australian channel director at Fortinet.
“Wavelink’s role as an accredited ATC provider aligns perfectly with Fortinet’s mission to address the cybersecurity skills gap through comprehensive training and will contribute to Fortinet’s pledge to train one million people by 2026.”
