Fortinet has agreed to acquire Mountain View, California-based cloud security company Lacework. The company stated, “Fortinet intends to integrate Lacework’s CNAPP solution into its existing portfolio, forming one of the most comprehensive, full-stack AI-driven cloud security platforms available from a single vendor. This will help customers identify, prioritize, and remediate risks and threats in complex cloud-native infrastructure from code to cloud.”

German SaaS security and compliance company DataGuard has acquired Swedish data privacy rights management platform DPOrganizer. The company stated, “This acquisition expands DataGuard’s footprint particularly in the Nordic region and the UK, and strengthens the company’s market position across its core geographies Europe and North America.”

Virginia-based cybersecurity company Everfox (formerly Forcepoint Federal) has acquired London-headquartered Garrison Technology. Everfox stated, “The addition of Garrison’s hardware-enforced security (hardsec) and software capabilities into the Everfox software suite of cross-domain, threat protection, and insider risk solutions will provide enterprise customers in government and regulated industries a broader set of innovative cybersecurity solutions to protect their digital infrastructure.”

Minneapolis-headquartered NetSPI has acquired Virginia-based cyber asset attack surface management company Hubble. NetSPI says the acquisition will “significantly enhance and accelerate NetSPI’s ability to accurately prioritize risk associated with assets and vulnerabilities in customer networks and help them assess the exposure to their most important assets relative to these risks.”

Atlanta-based PDI Technologies has acquired Michigan-headquartered managed security services provider Nuspire. PDI stated, “This acquisition is the first expansion by M&A for the PDI Security Solutions business since the company launched its cybersecurity and managed network services business segment in 2020.”

Investments and exits.

Maryland-based cybersecurity firm Huntress has secured $150 million in a Series D round led by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, and existing investor Sapphire Ventures. Huntress stated, “This latest infusion of capital will power cutting-edge endpoint, identity, cloud, and SaaS security research alongside strategic acquisitions.”

New Jersey-based Active Directory security firm Semperis has raised $125 million in growth financing from J. P. Morgan and Hercules Capital. The funding will allow the company “to further invest in product innovation and support a rapidly expanding global customer base.”

London-based post-quantum cryptography firm PQShield has secured $37 million in a Series B round led by Addition, with participation from Chevron Technology Ventures, Legal & General, Braavos Capital, and existing investor Oxford Science Enterprises. The company says it “will use the funding to expand its commercial operations as it continues to meet growing global demand for its quantum-ready cryptographic solutions for hardware, software and communications, as well as its research IP.”

Paris-based bug bounty and vulnerability management platform YesWeHack has raised €26 million (US$27.7 million) in a Series C round led by Wendel, with participation from Adelie, Seventure Partners, and existing investors Bpifrance, Open CNP, and Eiffel Investment Group. The company’s CEO and co-founder Guillaume Vassault-Houlière stated, “Thanks to this investment, YesWeHack will deliver even higher levels of customer satisfaction and continue developing innovative solutions in one of the most dynamic segments of cybersecurity.”

Israeli AI security startup Aim Security has raised $18 million in a Series A round led by Canaan Partners, with participation from seed investor YL Ventures.

Boston-headquartered non-human identity security firm Entro Security has raised $18 million in a Series A round led by Dell Technologies Capital, with participation from existing investors Hyperwise Ventures and StageOne Ventures. The company “will use the financing to scale global operations and meet the strong demand for its platform across key industries.”

Maryland-based XONA, a company that provides a zero-trust user access platform for OT systems, has secured $18 million in a strategic funding round led by Energy Impact Partners. The company stated, “In addition to further strengthening the XONA team, the newly secured funding will accelerate product development, including growing strategic OEM and technology alliances, and providing richer user access analytics.”

Canadian managed security services provider Mondata has raised $17 million in a funding round led by the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, with participation from Desjardins Group. The company stated, “These funds will enable Mondata to strengthen its commitment to protecting Québec and Canadian businesses, to accelerate product innovation and to boost marketing with the large-scale launch of ‘Proactive Cybersecurity,’ a new product designed to guide and empower users to reduce the risk of cybersecurity incidents, directly from the TEAMS application.”

Los Angeles-based access control platform provider Pomerium has secured $13.75 million led by Benchmark, with participation from existing investors Bain Capital, Haystack, SNR, and angel investors.

Italian security enterprise storage system company Avaneidi has raised €8 million (US$8.5 million) in a Series A round led by United Ventures.

UK-based IT security company OnSecurity has secured £5.5 million (US$6.9 million) in a Series A round from Gresham House Ventures. The company says the “investment will support the pentesting firm’s plans for rapid growth and innovation as well as R&D for the pentesting platform.”

Trustwise, a startup that provides a generative AI application performance and risk management solution, has launched with $4 million in seed funding.

Executive moves.

Sumo Logic has hired John Visneski as Chief Information Security Officer and Lyndsey Filantres as Senior Vice President of Growth.

Horizon3.ai has appointed Jill Passalacqua as Chief Legal Officer.
