Location: Remote + (Some travel to an office which could be in London, Leeds + Blackpool)

Duration: 6 Months Rolling (2-year project)

Job Description:

As an SC Cleared Cyber Security Consultant, you will play a key role in assessing, designing, and implementing robust security measures to protect our clients’ systems and data. Your expertise will be essential in identifying vulnerabilities, recommending improvements, and ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough security assessments and vulnerability analyses on client systems and networks.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance on security architecture, including network, application, and cloud security.
  • Perform security audits and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential threats.
  • Advise on the implementation of security controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Respond to security incidents and conduct forensic investigations as needed.
  • Deliver training and awareness programs to enhance security posture across the organization.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience as a Cyber Security Consultant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, and GDPR.
  • Proficiency in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
  • Expertise in network security, application security, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.
  • Strong understanding of encryption, identity and access management, and secure coding practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or SANS GIAC.
  • Experience working in a secure, high-compliance environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead security initiatives.
